  • 1.3GHz Intel Itanium 2 (Madison)
  • 7.2 GFlops (8 instr/cycle), peak
  • 6.4 GB/s bandwidth to memory, peak

Cache Specifications:

  • L1:  32 KB (16d+16i), 64 B, 4 way
  • L2:  256 KB, 128 B, 8 way
  • L3: 1.5 MB, 128 B, 6 way  (L3 is shared by the pair of CPUs per node

Network Interconnect:

  • Myrinet on 65 dual processor nodes.
  • Gigabit Ethernet on all nodes.
  • 100BaseT Ethernet on all nodes for administrative use only.

Storage:

  • 700 GB NFS (/users for user home directories)
  • 2.5 TB NFS (/projects for group allocations)
  • 5 TB PVFS (/shared.scratch temporary storage for high I/O jobs, parallel filesystem)
  • Some nodes have 25GB local storage per compute node (/scratch, contents deleted when job exits).
